Brewery Tour of Ireland Visits Cashel

Today we are proud to have welcomed a tour group of five brewers from Israel to our hometown of Cashel in County Tipperary. We brought then to visit the famous “original” hop plant which Richard Guinness ( father of Arthur) made the famous brew from for the bishop of Cashel, resident at the Cashel Palace Hotel ( conveniently located next door to our office).

Josh Petersen, Amiel Prager, Gary Bark, Alexander Bezion & Aaron Teller from all over Israel are visiting micro breweries in Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Galway and Roscommon on a brewing factfinding tour of Ireland.

Brewery Tour of Ireland - Hop Plants in Cashel

Cashel is the birthplace of the infamous “Guinness” drink and in the beautiful gardens to the rear of The Cashel Palace Hotel you can still see the hops growing that were used by Richard Guinis, father of Arthur to make the first brew. I’m sure that the hotels friendly and welcoming staff will be more than happy to fill you in on the story and perhaps give you an impromptu history lesson regarding the hotel if you decide to pay a visit for yourself. What better place to sample the Irish delight than in its birthplace. The hotel houses the aptly named “Guinness Bar” in its basement and the very first drop of Guinness is immortalized here in metal on the floor.

The hotel also has close proximity to the Rock or Cashel which is the most visited Heritage site in Ireland so this is definitely a must for your itinerary when planning your private guided tour of Ireland. As they say in Ireland .. “never let the truth get in the way of a good story ” .. we will raise a glass to that !!!!
