Thanksgiving is a special time of year, a time to reflect on what we are thankful for, gather with family and friends. While Thanksgiving is celebrated predominately by Americans and Canadians, the tradition has been adopted by many countries, like Ireland, who have very special bonds with the two nations.
Given the large number of Irish diaspora living in America and the increase in North American visitors to Ireland, this Thanksgiving will be celebrated here in Ireland. For those Americans who find themselves away from home and in Ireland this holiday, fear not that a traditional turkey dinner can be found on the Emerald Isle!
The famous Merry Ploughboy Pub will be hosting a Thanksgiving meal and show with a special Thanksgiving theme. Other restaurants around the country who offer Thanksgiving dinners include Beaufield Mews in Stillorgan, Co.Dublin, The Fitzwilliam Hotel, La Boheme in Waterford, and the Ulster American Folk Park.
At Ireland Chauffeur Travel, we wish all our American friends in Ireland and America a Happy Thanksgiving! Lá Altaithe Sona Daoibh!
