Springfield Castle is located in Drumcollogher in West Co Limerick and is the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Muskerry. As you enter the impressive gateway to Springfield Castle a plaque on the wall commemorates Daithi O’Bruadair, a classical Irish poet of the seventeenth century who lived at the castle with his patrons, the Fitzgerald family. In recent times Springfield Castle is run by The Deane Family and visitors are assured of a warm and friendly welcome. Springfield Castle consists of the castle itself and the newly renovated East Tower wing. The grounds of the castle are beautiful and consist of a large walled garden which produces organic salads, herbs and flowers for local restaurants. There are many activities available nearby including Golf, Fishing & Horse Riding.
